When driving through the streets today, you can often tell which brand a car is by its light signature. With “FrontIQ Light,” KraussMaffei is showing at K 2025 what the headlights of the future could look like.

In the fast lane with a luxury car
It’s seen action in desert rallies, served as the Popemobile, and operates in crisis zones: the Mercedes G-Class. Since 1979, this rugged off-roader has also found fame among Hollywood stars and sheikhs, especially in its sleek AMG version. Key exterior parts like bumpers, fender flares, and more come from Osbra GmbH, which supplies OEMs with both injection molding and reaction processing – using systems from KraussMaffei. And the next production expansion is already on the horizon.

Live @NPE: Future mobility
The future of mobility promises fascinating innovations that could fundamentally change the way we travel. Just think of driverless concept vehicles that travel autonomously. At the KraussMaffei booth at NPE in Florida, Orlando (May 6-10), Clemson University will be demonstrating the role and potential of plastics for this application.

KraussMaffei wins renowned AVK award
Together with Wirthwein SE, KraussMaffei has won first place in this year's AVK (German Federation of Reinforced Plastics) Innovation Award for fiber-reinforced composites in the Processes & Methods category. The award was given to the newly developed CFP (Chopped Fiber Processing) technology. The new technology for direct compounding of chopped fiber in the injection molding machine yields significant material and energy savings compared to continuous-fiber-reinforced technologies.

The carefree complete package
The name indicates the origins: Promotool. When searching for a qualified moldmaker, the Pichler family of the Rudi Göbel Group took over the Austrian company in 2005. Since then, Promotool has developed from moldmaking to being a system provider and has been offering all production steps in-house since 2018, from development of parts to their manufacturing. 100 percent of the machines operating in the Promotool molding department are from KraussMaffei.

How MD ELEKTRONIK uses socialProduction
In the past, there were one or two coax cables in the car - for the radio. Now, due to e-mobility, sensor technology and assistance systems, there are up to 17. The cable specialist MD ELEKTRONIK knows how important digital data streams are and has had two new KraussMaffei machines equipped with socialProduction for production monitoring. The acceptance test was already carried out remotely.

Keep the recipe in check
The demands placed on plastics processors for traceability and transparency are growing just as much as the cost pressure. This is why the ZF plant in Vigo, Spain also wants to be in control of the polymers and relies on direct compounding. The new DCIM process from KraussMaffei is economically attractive for components from 50 to 2000 grams—and it has no impact on cycle time.
